Vitalware is designed to manage the records and operations of Registries of Births, Deaths and Marriages. It is a mature, comprehensively structured, full-featured system that provides the flexibility and ease of use necessary for day-to-day management of vital statistic information.

Vitalware's security features are designed to reduce the risk of fraudulent access to or use of the Registry’s records, and include:
- Ensuring events are accurately recorded
- Ensuring only valid certificates are issued to authori
- Verifying certificate details after certificates have been issued
A fully integrated Point-Of-Sale (POS) module provides comprehensive support for all Registry transactions. The POS module is the starting point for all data input related to orders, and it is surrounded by a suite of modules that supports all registration and management functions.
The production of certificates is handled immediately, enabling application turnaround times of a few seconds. A comprehensive mail handling application provides same day service for postal requests for certificates and, through integrated, secure web access, Vitalware can provide a range of registration and inquiry services to external stakeholders.
A major feature of Vitalware is the ease with which the standard registration modules can be adapted to meet local legislative requirements and policies. Each Registry can support its own unique registration tables while still making use of the other Vitalware processing and management features. Other registers can also be supported by Vitalware, such as Registers of Wills.
